Resin Workshop Waiver


WORKSHOP SAFETY DISCLAIMER AND LIABILITY WAIVER

By participating in this workshop, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to the following terms and conditions regarding the use of materials and tools.


1. Acknowledgement of Inherent Risks

This workshop involves working with potentially hazardous materials and high-heat tools. Participation involves inherent risks, and you understand and voluntarily assume these risks, including, but not limited to:

A. High-Heat Tool Risk (hot glue guns and heat guns)

The use of hot glue guns and heat guns presents an immediate risk of severe burns upon contact with skin, clothing, or other materials. You are responsible for ensuring these tools are handled carefully, directed away from yourself and others, and placed in safe, designated areas when not in immediate use.

B. Chemical Risks (epoxy resin)

Working with two-part epoxy resin involves exposure to chemical substances. Risks include:

-Skin/Eye Irritation: Direct contact can cause irritation, redness, or burns.

-Inhalation/Sensitization: Vapors and fumes, especially when resin is mixed or heated, can cause respiratory irritation, headache, dizziness, and may lead to chemical sensitization, which can result in severe allergic reactions upon subsequent exposure.

-Cure Hazards: Resin and hardener are toxic until fully cured.


2. Mandatory Safety Protocols

You agree to adhere strictly to all safety instructions provided by the instructor and the use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):

-Ventilation: Work must be conducted in designated, adequately ventilated area.

PPE: You MUST wear the provided safety glasses/goggles, nitrile gloves , and an appropriate mask/respirator (if provided or required for specific resin being used) at all times while handling unmixed or uncured resin.

-Tool usage: Tools must only be used as demonstrated and approved by the instructor. No unauthorized tools are permitted.

-Cleanup: You agree to follow all instructions for chemical waste disposal and tool cleanup.


3. Release of Liability and Indemnification

In consideration of being permitted to participate in this workshop:

A. You voluntarily agree to assume all responsibility for any and all risks of injury or damage to person or property that may occur during participation.

B. You hereby release, waiver, and forever discharge the instructor, the organizer, the venue, and their respective affiliates, agents, servants, or employees from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions or causes of action whatsoever arising out of injury, damage, or loss sustained by you or any third party, regardless of the cause.

C. This release applies even if the injury or damage is caused by the negligence of the parties being released.


4. I certify that I am 18 years of age or older (or have had a parent/guardian sign below). I have read and fully understand the contents of this disclaimer and waiver. I understand that I am responsible for my own safety, and I agree to abide by all safety rules.
